Phillies at Twins

P.J. Walters vs. Cole Hamels

-Walter has made one appearance vs. Philadelphia. He is 0-1 with an infinite ERA since allowed four runs on four hits and did record an out. Walters is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in his only three starts of the season.

-Delmon Young is 0-for-8 against Walters in his career.

-Jimmy Rollins 1-for-1.

-Hamels is 1-0 with a 6.23 ERA in two career starts vs. our Twins. He has struck out a Twin per inning. Hamels has had his struggles this season but he is still a very good pitcher. He is 1-2 with a 4.91 ERA in his last three starts and he is 2-9 with a 4.56 ERA on the season.

-Justin Morneau is 2-for-5 with a home and three RBIs vs. the fellow lefty Hamels.

-Joe Mauer is 0-for-6

-Josh Willingham is 9-for-31 with three homers, seven RBIs and twelve strikeouts.

-Ryan Doumit is 3-for-12.

Mike Pelfrey vs. Tyler Cloyd

-Pelfrey is 7-7 with a 5.16 ERA against the Phillies in his career. He is 0-2 with a 5.71 ERA in his last three starts.

-Chase Utley (currently on DL) is 13-for-39 with four homers, ten RBIs, five walks and four strikeouts against Pelfrey in his career.

-Ryan Howard is 16-for-43 with three homers, seven RBIs, seven walks and four strikeouts.

-Rollins is 13-for-44 with a homer, five RBIs, four strikeouts and five stolen bases.

-Cloyd has never faced the Twins. He will be making just his twelfth MLB start ever and sixth of the season. He is 2-2 with a respectable 3.68 ERA on the season.

Kevin Correia vs. Cliff Lee

-Correia is 1-3 with an 8.64 ERA in 11 appearances against Philadelphia. He is 1-0 with a 4.74 ERA in his last three starts.

-Howard is 3-for-11 with a homer, five RBIs and three strikeouts against Correia in his career.

-Rollins is 3-for-14.

-Lee is 8-4 with a 3.64 ERA in 19 career starts vs. the Twins. He is 2-0 with a 2.78 ERA in his last three starts and 7-2 with a 2.55 ERA on the season.

-Mauer is 9-for-30 against Lee.

-Morneau is 8-for-35 with three RBIs and five strikeouts.

-Jamey Carroll is 5-for-8.

-Willingham is 2-for-10.

The Phillies have been led by outfielder Dominic Brown. He was supposed to be their breakout player the last two seasons but he never quite found his footing. This year he has already smashed 19 homers, driving in 47 runs and has an OPS of .937.

Philadelphia features a pair of ex-Twins in Ben Revere and Delmon Young. Both have struggled but they are now slowly heating up. You can bet they be ready to face their former mates.

The Philly pen bolsters some gritty tested arms in Antonio Bastardo (team leader in appearances with 26), the devastating Mike Adams and the always intense stopper Jonathan Papelbon.
